A friend is a contact to whom you've sent an invitation to add to the friend list and who has confirmed it. Of if you have confirmed the same invitation. In order to add social services visit the program main menu. Select «Add» in the right lower corner.

You browser will open a tab for you to enter your Windows Live ID и and password and click on «Sign in»:

Then you will be able to select any service you want to get connected too. Green ticks mark the services you are already connected to.

Windows Live Messenger offers several personal profile parameter types:

- Public All people using Windows Live Messenger will be able to find your profile, view your albums and send invitations to add them to the friend list.

- Limited All users can find you using the Search, view your profile and add to friends. Friends confirmed by you can view your albums and status.

- Personal Your friends only can find you in the Search, view your profile and status. Some friends are able to see your details and nobody can add you to friends.

- Current parameters

You can adjust parameters as you want and set the desirable level of access to your data.

How can I make a call from my computer to other user's computer? (go to the top)

In order to make a call you should select «Action» tab in the main program window

Select «Call a contact's computer» in the window that appears

In the new window select the contact you need and click on «Ok»

Now you can see your interlocutor and chat with him or her.

Where can I adjust settings? (go to the top)

In order to adjust user settings you are to select the tab with your name in the main program window and double click on it. The tab contains the main information about settings

If you need detailed settings select «More options»

The window that opened in a new tab allows you to change any settings as you wish.

How can I find out where files sent by other users are stored? (go to the top)

To find out where files received from other users are saved select the tab with your profile in the main program window and double click on it. Then select «More option»

Here you are to switch to «History»

File destination path is set by default. To change it click on «Change».

How can I change my Windows Live Messenger password? (go to the top)

In order to change your Windows Live ID password you are to sign in to your Windows Live Account. You can do that by visiting http://login.live.com/ and entering your ID and password. Then click on «Sign in».

In the window you can change the password by selecting «Change» opposite «Password» menu issue.

A window will appear for you to enter the old password and then the desirable new one and then confirm it. After that click on «Save» to save the changes.

Now your Windows Live ID is password-protected.

How can I change my status message? (go to the top)

If you want to change your status message you are to click on «Share something new» in the main program window.

Here you should enter the status you want, for example «I love my Universe».

Besides, you can add smiles, links and images to your status message: Add – Photo, Link, and click on «Share».

Done. Now your friends can see your status message.

How can I send a message to my offline friend? (go to the top)

If you want to send a message to one of your friends who is offline at the moment then you should select this friend in the main window of Windows Live Messenger in «Friends» tab. Then click on «Send offline IM»

In the window that opened you can type a message for your friend. The friend receive the message as soon as he or she signs in for Windows Live Messenger.
